Two question with one answer: What is the one thing you have to do when you go to Ireland? What is the one thing you do not do twice in Ireland. The answer to both questions is kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. How can you go home and tell people you went all the way to Ireland and you did not kiss the Blarney Stone. Once you do it you never have to do it again since it is located at the top of an old castle that is not easy to get to with narrow and uneven stairs.
On this cloudy day we headed east to Blarney to kiss the "Stone of Eloquence" and to do even more shopping at the Blarney Woollen Mills. As Chris and I braved the threatening clouds and very narrow passageways to kiss the Blarney Stone - Anne, Mary Jo and Wendy braved the crowds at the Woolen Mills as if it was Black Friday at Woodfield Mall.
After we left Blarney we headed to Waterford to to visit the House of Waterford Crystal see how glass is blown and cut by master crafts people and view a collection of amazing trophies. That evening we took a walking tour with a local guide to discover the history of the old port city of Waterford.
