Journey to Jackson Hole
One of the Prettiest Drives in America: From Devils Tower to Jackson Hole
April 30, 2025
The drive from Devils Tower National Monument to Jackson Hole, Wyoming is one of the most scenic and diverse road trips in the United States. This unforgettable route showcases the ever-changing beauty of the American West. We traveled from rugged Badlands to snow-covered mountain peaks.
We began our journey surrounded by the dramatic formations of the Badlands, eventually transitioning into rolling ranchlands that seemed to stretch endlessly across the horizon. Roughly two-thirds of the way into the drive, the landscape transformed again, this time into a striking terrain of red clay buttes. The red cliffs stood in vivid contrast against the bright blue sky, dotted with puffy white clouds, offering postcard-perfect views at every turn.
As we approached the Continental Divide, the red earth gave way to a winter wonderland. Snow blanketed the landscape as we descended into the Grand Teton Valley, where we stopped at several scenic overlooks to admire the towering Grand Teton mountains and watch herds of elk gathered at the National Elk Refuge.
We arrived in Jackson Hole area just in time to witness a breathtaking sunset over the Grand Tetons. This was a perfect end to one of the most beautiful drives in Wyoming and a true highlight of our Western road trip.
