Another beautiful day in Northern Ireland started out with breakfast at the Bed and Breakfast and discussions of itinerary and World events. Disappointingly they did not want to talk baseball.
A short drive from the Bed and Breakfast were the Dark Hedges in county Antrim. This beautiful tree lined road is very popular as a television location and widely photographed. I was fortunate to arrive early and get a few minutes of solitude prior to the arrival of the tourist buses. Despite being damaged by storms in recent years it is still is a beautiful site of two century old beech trees.

My next stop of the day was the ruins of Dunluce Castle. Built on the dramatic coastal cliffs of north County Antrim by the MacQuillan family around 1500.
In the 17th century Dunluce was the Seat of the Earls of County Antrim.
I was able to walk around the castle in near solitude with the howl of the wind coming off the water where I imagined what it must have been like to explore this area through the centuries. This is a must see when in the North.

For the first four days of my trip I stayed in Bushmills. Bushmills straddles being a factory town since it the location of Bushmills Distillery and a tourist location with the Giants Causeway located just a few miles away. On evening walks you can smell the whiskey in the air and might just catch a contact buzz.
Dinner this evening was at the Bushmills Inn Hotel and Restaurant.
